[वै] धिग अस्तु कषत्तारम इति बरुवाणॊ; दर्पेण मत्तॊ धृतराष्ट्रस्य पुत्रः अवैक्षत परातिकामीं सभायाम; उवाच चैनं परमार्यमध्ये ॥ २-६०-१ ॥
'Vaisampayana said: "Intoxicated with pride, the son of Dhritarashtra said, 'Fie on Kshatta!' He then looked at the Pratikamin present and, in the midst of all the venerable elders, commanded.' ॥ 2-60-1 ॥

तवं परातिकामिन दरौपदीम आनयस्व; न ते भयं विद्यते पाण्डवेभ्यः कषत्ता हय अयं विवदत्य एव भीरुर; न चास्माकं वृद्धिकामः सदैव ॥ २-६०-२ ॥
'Go, Pratikamin, and bring Draupadi here. Do not fear the sons of Pandu. It is only Vidura who trembles in fear and wishes us no good.' ॥ 2-60-2 ॥

एवम उक्तः परातिकामी ससूतः; परायाच छीघ्रं राजवचॊ निशम्य परविश्य च शवेव स सिंहगॊष्ठं; समासदन महिषीं पाण्डवानाम ॥ २-६०-३ ॥
'Vaisampayana continued: "Thus commanded, the Pratikamin, of the Suta caste, quickly set out upon hearing the king's words. Entering the abode of the Pandavas like a dog entering a lion's den, he approached the queen of the Pandavas."' ॥ 2-60-3 ॥

[पर] युधिष्ठिरे दयूतमदेन मत्ते; दुर्यॊधनॊ दरौपदि तवाम अजैषीत सा परपद्य तवं धृतराष्ट्रस्य वेश्म; नयामि तवां कर्मणे याज्ञसेनि ॥ २-६०-४ ॥
'He said, Yudhishthira, overwhelmed by the dice game, was inebriated with its outcome. Duryodhana, having defeated Draupadi, led her into the palace of Dhritarashtra. "I am bringing you to fulfill my duty," he said, "as part of the ritual act."' ॥ 2-60-4 ॥

[द] कथं तव एवं वदसि परातिकामिन; कॊ वै दीव्येद भार्ययया राजपुत्रः मूढॊ राजा दयूतमदेन मत्त; आहॊ नान्यत कैतवम अस्य किं चित ॥ २-६०-५ ॥
'Draupadi said, "Why do you speak thus, O Pratikamin? What prince would stake his wife in a game? The king was indeed intoxicated by the dice. Otherwise, could he not have found something else to stake?"' ॥ 2-60-5 ॥
