मज्जन्त्य अलाबूनि शिलाः पलवन्ते; मुह्यन्ति नावॊ ऽमभसि शश्वद एव मूढॊ राजा धृतराष्ट्रस्य पुत्रॊ; न मे वाचः पथ्यरूपाः शृणॊति ।। २-५९-११ ।।

sanskrit

'Even though gourds may sink and stones may float, and boats may constantly capsize in water, the foolish king, the son of Dhritarashtra, still does not heed my words, which are meant as guidance for him.' ।। 2-59-11 ।।

english translation

majjantya alAbUni zilAH palavante; muhyanti nAvò 'mabhasi zazvada eva mUDhò rAjA dhRtarASTrasya putrò; na me vAcaH pathyarUpAH zRNòti || 2-59-11 ||

अन्तॊ नूनं भवितायं कुरूणां; सुदारुणः सर्वहरॊ विनाशः वाचः काव्याः सुहृदां पथ्यरूपा; न शरूयन्ते वर्धते लॊभ एव ।। २-५९-१२ ।।

sanskrit

'Without a doubt, he will be the cause of the Kurus' destruction. When wise counsel from friends, which serves as valuable guidance, is ignored, and temptation only increases, a terrible and all-encompassing ruin is certain to befall the Kurus.' ।। 2-59-12 ।।

english translation

antò nUnaM bhavitAyaM kurUNAM; sudAruNaH sarvaharò vinAzaH vAcaH kAvyAH suhRdAM pathyarUpA; na zarUyante vardhate lòbha eva || 2-59-12 ||
