आकर्षस ते ऽवाक्फलः कु परणीतॊ; हृदि परौढॊ मन्त्रपदः समाधिः युधिष्ठिरेण सफलः संस्तवॊ ऽसतु; साम्नः सुरिक्तॊ ऽरिमतेः सुधन्वा ॥ २-५६-६ ॥
'May your charm be purposeful and well-directed, may your heart be filled with deep meditation on sacred verses, may your praise of Yudhishthira be fruitful, and may your conciliatory approach towards the enemy be as potent as a well-strung bow.' ॥ 2-56-6 ॥
english translation
AkarSasa te 'vAkphalaH ku paraNItò; hRdi parauDhò mantrapadaH samAdhiH yudhiSThireNa saphalaH saMstavò 'satu; sAmnaH suriktò 'rimateH sudhanvA ॥ 2-56-6 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptपरातिपीयाः शांतनवाश च राजन; काव्यां वाचं शृणुत मात्यगाद वः वैश्वानरं परज्वलितं सुघॊरम; अयुद्धेन परशमयतॊत्पतन्तम ॥ २-५६-७ ॥

hk transliteration by Sanscriptयदा मन्युं पाण्डवॊ ऽजातशत्रुर; न संयच्छेद अक्षमयाभिभूतः वृकॊदरः सव्यसाची यमौ च; कॊ ऽतर दवीपः सयात तुमुले वस तदानीम ॥ २-५६-८ ॥
'When Ajatasatru, the son of Pandu, overcome by the intoxication of dice, gives way to his wrath, and Vrikodara, Arjuna, and the twins do the same, who will then be your refuge in that hour of turmoil?' ॥ 2-56-8 ॥
english translation
yadA manyuM pANDavò 'jAtazatrura; na saMyaccheda akSamayAbhibhUtaH vRkòdaraH savyasAcI yamau ca; kò 'tara davIpaH sayAta tumule vasa tadAnIma ॥ 2-56-8 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptमहाराज परभवस तवं धनानां; पुरा दयूतान मनसा यावद इच्छेः बहु वित्तं पाण्डवांश चेज जयेस तवं; किं तेन सयाद वसु विन्देह पार्थान ॥ २-५६-९ ॥
'O great king, you are already a source of immense wealth. You can acquire as much wealth through other means as you seek to gain by gambling. Why seek to gain mere wealth from the Pandavas?' ॥ 2-56-9 ॥

mahArAja parabhavasa tavaM dhanAnAM; purA dayUtAna manasA yAvada iccheH bahu vittaM pANDavAMza ceja jayesa tavaM; kiM tena sayAda vasu vindeha pArthAna ॥ 2-56-9 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptजानीमहे देवितं सौबलस्य; वेद दयूते निकृतिं पार्वतीयः यतः पराप्तः शकुनिस तत्र यातु; माया यॊधी भारत पार्वतीयः ॥ २-५६-१० ॥
'Conquer the Pandavas themselves, for they are worth more than all their riches combined. We are well aware of Suvala's skill and deceitful tactics in gambling. Let Sakuni return from whence he came. Do not, O Bharata, engage in conflict with the sons of Pandu.' ॥ 2-56-10 ॥
