विदितं ते महाराज राजस्व एवासमञ्जसम अन्धका यादवा भॊजाः समेताः कंसम अत्यजन ॥ २-५५-६ ॥

'It is known to you, O wise one, that among the Bhojas, a son unworthy of their lineage was abandoned for the welfare of the people. Similarly, the Andhakas, Yadavas, and Bhojas, uniting together, cast off Kamsa for the greater good.' ॥ 2-55-6 ॥

viditaM te mahArAja rAjasva evAsamaJjasama andhakA yAdavA bhòjAH sametAH kaMsama atyajana ॥ 2-55-6 ॥

नियॊगाच च हते तस्मिन कृष्णेनामित्र घातिना एवं ते जञातयः सर्वे मॊदमानाः शतं समाः ॥ २-५५-७ ॥

'Afterwards, when Krishna, the slayer of enemies, killed Kamsa at the behest of the entire tribe, all the members of the clan were exceedingly happy for a hundred years.' ॥ 2-55-7 ॥

niyògAca ca hate tasmina kRSNenAmitra ghAtinA evaM te jaJAtayaH sarve mòdamAnAH zataM samAH ॥ 2-55-7 ॥

तवन नियुक्तः सव्यसाची निगृह्णातु सुयॊधनम निग्रहाद अस्य पापस्य मॊदन्तां कुरवः सुखम ॥ २-५५-८ ॥

'At your command, let Arjuna defeat this Duryodhana. As a result of slaying this wretch, may the Kurus find joy and live in happiness.' ॥ 2-55-8 ॥

tavana niyuktaH savyasAcI nigRhNAtu suyòdhanama nigrahAda asya pApasya mòdantAM kuravaH sukhama ॥ 2-55-8 ॥

काकेनेमांश चित्रबर्हाञ शार्दूलान करॊष्टुकेन च करीणीष्व पाण्डवान राजन मा मज्जीः शॊकसागरे ॥ २-५५-९ ॥

'O King, just as a crow cannot defeat peacocks, a jackal cannot overcome tigers, and a donkey cannot conquer elephants, so too you cannot defeat the Pandavas, so do not sink into an ocean of sorrow.' ॥ 2-55-9 ॥

तयजेत कुलार्थे पुरुषं गरामस्यार्थे कुलं तयजेत गरामं जनपदस्यार्थे आत्मार्थे पृथिवीं तयजेत ॥ २-५५-१० ॥

'For the preservation of a family, one may sacrifice a member; for the preservation of a village, a family; for the preservation of a province, a village; and the preservation of one's soul, one may even sacrifice the entire earth.' ॥ 2-55-10 ॥
