न चाकामः शकुनिना देविताहं; न चेन मां धृष्णुर आह्वयिता सभायाम आहूतॊ ऽहं न निवर्ते कदा चित; तद आहितं शाश्वतं वै वरतं मे ॥ २-५२-१६ ॥
'Though I am unwilling to gamble, I will not participate unless the wicked Shakuni summons me in the assembly. If he challenges me, however, I will not refuse, for it is my steadfast and eternal vow.' ॥ 2-52-16 ॥
