'And numberless dark-colored men with the ends of their, eyes red as copper, attired in clothes decked with gems, waited at the gate with those presents.' ।। 2-48-31 ।।
परीत्यर्थं बराह्मणैश चैव कषत्रियाश च विनिर्जिताः उपाजह्रुर विशश चैव शूद्राः शुश्रूषवॊ ऽपि च परीत्या च बहुमानाच च अभ्यगच्छन युधिष्ठिरम ।। २-४८-३२ ।।
'Numerous Brahmanas and Kshatriyas, who had been defeated, along with Vaisyas and serving Sudras, out of their affection for Yudhishthira, brought tribute to the son of Pandu.' ।। 2-48-32 ।।
सर्वे मलेच्छाः सर्ववर्णा आदिमध्यान्तजास तथा नानादेशसमुत्थैश च नाना जातिभिर आगतैः पर्यस्त इव लॊकॊ ऽयं युधिष्ठिर निवेशने ।। २-४८-३३ ।।
'Even all the Mlechchas, moved by love and respect, came to Yudhishthira. People of all classes—whether noble, indifferent, or lowly—belonging to countless races from various lands, made Yudhishthira’s residence the very epitome of the world.' ।। 2-48-33 ।।
'Seeing the kings of the earth presenting such excellent and valuable tributes to my enemies, I am overwhelmed with grief and long for death.' ।। 2-48-34 ।।
