'Duryodhana said, "O virtuous one, listen as I describe the vast collection of wealth and diverse tributes presented to Yudhishthira by the kings of the earth."' ।। 2-48-1 ।।
मेरुमन्दरयॊर मध्ये शैलॊदाम अभितॊ नदीम ये ते कीचक वेणूनां छायां रम्याम उपासते ।। २-४८-२ ।।
'Those who dwell by the Sailoda River, flowing between the Meru and Mandara mountains, and enjoy the pleasant shade of the Kichaka bamboo groves.' ।। 2-48-2 ।।
ते वै पिपीलिकं नाम वरदत्तं पिपीलिकैः जातरूपं दरॊण मेयम अहार्षुः पुञ्जशॊ नृपाः ।। २-४८-४ ।।
'They brought heaps of gold as tribute. This gold, measured in jars (dronas), was extracted from beneath the earth by ants and thus named after these creatures.' ।। 2-48-4 ।।
'The mountain tribes, endowed with great strength, brought as tribute numerous Chamaras (long brushes), some soft and black, others white as moonbeams. They also presented sweet honey extracted from flowers growing in the Himavat, as well as from Mishali champaka.' ।। 2-48-5 ।।
