सुजातयः शरेणिमन्तः शरेयांसः शस्त्रपाणयः आहार्षुः कषत्रिया वित्तं शतशॊ ऽजातशत्रवे ॥ २-४८-१६ ॥
'The Sujatas, the Shareni-mantas, the Shreyamsas, and those skilled in weapons, along with the Kshatriyas bringing their wealth in hundreds, all presented their tributes to the unconquered king.' ॥ 2-48-16 ॥

sujAtayaH zareNimantaH zareyAMsaH zastrapANayaH AhArSuH kaSatriyA vittaM zatazò 'jAtazatrave ॥ 2-48-16 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptवङ्गाः कलिङ्ग पतयस ताम्रलिप्ताः सपुण्ड्रकाः दुकूलं कौशिकं चैव पत्रॊर्णं परावरान अपि ॥ २-४८-१७ ॥
'The people of Vanga, the kings of Kalinga, the Tamraliptas, and those from Pundra, along with the Dukulas, Kaushikas, and people from various distant regions .' ॥ 2-48-17 ॥

vaGgAH kaliGga patayasa tAmraliptAH sapuNDrakAH dukUlaM kauzikaM caiva patròrNaM parAvarAna api ॥ 2-48-17 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतत्र सम दवारपालैस ते परॊच्यन्ते राजशासनात कृतकाराः सुबलयस ततॊ दवारम अवाप्स्यथ ॥ २-४८-१८ ॥
'There, under the orders of the king, you will be announced by the gatekeepers. After being duly acknowledged and honored, you will then be granted entry.' ॥ 2-48-18 ॥

tatra sama davArapAlaisa te paròcyante rAjazAsanAta kRtakArAH subalayasa tatò davArama avApsyatha ॥ 2-48-18 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptईषा दन्तान हेमकक्षान पद्मवर्णान कुथावृतान शैलाभान नित्यमत्तांश च अभितः काम्यकं सरः ॥ २-४८-१९ ॥
'The kings of those nations each presented a thousand elephants, adorned with tusks resembling plow shafts and decorated with golden girdles. These elephants were covered with luxurious blankets, giving them a hue akin to lotuses. And they were all darkish as rocks and always musty, and procured from the sides of the Kamyaka lake, and covered with defensive armor.' ॥ 2-48-19 ॥

ISA dantAna hemakakSAna padmavarNAna kuthAvRtAna zailAbhAna nityamattAMza ca abhitaH kAmyakaM saraH ॥ 2-48-19 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptदत्त्वैकैकॊ दशशतान कुञ्जरान कवचावृतान कषमावतः कुलीनांश च दवारेण पराविशंस ततः ॥ २-४८-२० ॥
'And they were also exceedingly patient and of the best breed. And having made these presents, those kings were permitted to enter.' ॥ 2-48-20 ॥
