[ध] कषत्ता मन्त्री महाप्राज्ञः सथितॊ यस्यास्मि शासने तेन संगम्य वेत्स्यामि कार्यस्यास्य विनिश्चयम ।। २-४५-४१ ।।

sanskrit

'Dhritarashtra replied, 'I always adhere to the advice of Kshatta, my minister renowned for his wisdom. After consulting with him, I will inform you of my decision regarding this matter.'' ।। 2-45-41 ।।

english translation

[dha] kaSattA mantrI mahAprAjJaH sathitò yasyAsmi zAsane tena saMgamya vetsyAmi kAryasyAsya vinizcayama || 2-45-41 ||

स हि धर्मं पुरस्कृत्य दीर्घदर्शी परं हितम उभयॊः पक्षयॊर युक्तं वक्ष्यत्य अर्थविनिश्चयम ।। २-४५-४२ ।।

sanskrit

'Endued with great foresight, he will, keeping morality before his eyes, tell us what is good and what is proper for both parties and what should be done in this matter.' ।। 2-45-42 ।।

english translation

sa hi dharmaM puraskRtya dIrghadarzI paraM hitama ubhayòH pakSayòra yuktaM vakSyatya arthavinizcayama || 2-45-42 ||

[द] निवर्तयिष्यति तवासौ यदि कषत्ता समेष्यति निवृत्ते तवयि राजेन्द्र मरिष्ये ऽहम असंशयम ।। २-४५-४३ ।।

'Duryodhana said, 'If you consult with Kshatta, he will make you withdraw. If you do so, O King, I will certainly end my life.' ।। 2-45-43 ।।

[da] nivartayiSyati tavAsau yadi kaSattA sameSyati nivRtte tavayi rAjendra mariSye 'hama asaMzayama || 2-45-43 ||

स मयि तवं मृते राजन विदुरेण सुखी भव भॊक्ष्यसे पृथिवीं कृत्स्नां किं मया तवं करिष्यसि ।। २-४५-४४ ।।

'And after my death, you will find happiness with Vidura and enjoy the entire earth. What need do you have of me then?' ।। 2-45-44 ।।

sa mayi tavaM mRte rAjana vidureNa sukhI bhava bhòkSyase pRthivIM kRtsnAM kiM mayA tavaM kariSyasi || 2-45-44 ||
