'Hearing Duryodhana's words, Sakuni replied, 'Listen to how you can achieve the unparalleled prosperity you see in the son of Pandu, O one who is known for your valor and truthfulness.' ।। 2-45-36 ।।
अहम अक्षेष्व अभिज्ञातः पृथिव्याम अपि भारत हृदयज्ञः पणज्ञश च विशेषज्ञश च देवने ।। २-४५-३७ ।।
'O Bharata, I am a master of dice, unmatched in the world. I can determine the outcome of every throw and know precisely when to wager and when to hold back. My knowledge of the game is exceptional.' ।। 2-45-37 ।।
दयूतप्रियश च कौन्तेयॊ न च जानाति देवितुम आहूतश चैष्यति वयक्तं दीव्यावेत्य आह्वयस्व तम ।। २-४५-३८ ।।
'The son of Kunti also enjoys playing dice, though he lacks skill in it. If summoned to play or to battle, he will certainly come forward. I will defeat him repeatedly with my skillful deceptions. I promise to win all his wealth, and then you, O Duryodhana, shall enjoy it.' ।। 2-45-38 ।।
'Sakuni, an expert in dice, is eager to win the wealth of the Pandavas through his skill. It is fitting for you, O King, to permit him to do so.' ।। 2-45-40 ।।
