दिष्ट्या वर्धसि धर्मज्ञ साम्राज्यं पराप्तवान विभॊ आजमीढाजमीढानां यशॊ संवर्धितं तवया कर्मणैतेन राजेन्द्र धर्मश च सुमहान कृतः ॥ २-४२-३६ ॥
'By good fortune, you have achieved success. O virtuous one, you have attained imperial dignity. O descendant of the Ajamida race, your actions have spread the fame of your entire lineage. O king of kings, through this noble act, you have also accumulated immense religious merit.' ॥ 2-42-36 ॥

आपृच्छामॊ नरव्याघ्र सर्वकामैः सुपूजिताः सवराष्ट्राणि गमिष्यामस तदनुज्ञातुम अर्हसि ॥ २-४२-३७ ॥
'We have been honored by you to our fullest satisfaction. We now wish to return to our own kingdoms and request your permission to do so.' ॥ 2-42-37 ॥

शरुत्वा तु वचनं राज्ञां धर्मराजॊ युधिष्ठिरः यथार्हं पूज्य नृपतीन भरातॄन सर्वान उवाच ह ॥ २-४२-३८ ॥
'Hearing the words of the monarchs, King Yudhishthira the just, honoring each as was appropriate, instructed his brothers, saying:' ॥ 2-42-38 ॥

राजानः सर्व एवैते परीत्यास्मान समुपागताः परस्थिताः सवानि राष्ट्राणि माम आपृच्छ्य परंतपाः ते ऽनुव्रजत भद्रं ते विषयान्तं नृपॊत्तमान ॥ २-४२-३९ ॥
'These monarchs have come to us of their own accord, and now, eager to return to their own kingdoms, seek my farewell. May you be blessed, and escort these esteemed kings to the borders of our realms.' ॥ 2-42-39 ॥

भरातुर वचनम आज्ञाय पाण्डवा धर्मचारिणः यथार्हं नृप मुख्यांस तान एकैकं समनुव्रजन ॥ २-४२-४० ॥
'Hearing these words from their brother, the virtuous Pandava princes escorted the kings as each deserved.' ॥ 2-42-40 ॥
