ततः के चिन महीपाला नाब्रुवंस तत्र किं चन अतीतवाक्पथे काले परेक्षमाणा जनार्दनम ॥ २-४२-२६ ॥
'Then, some of the kings, observing the passage of time, remained silent and did not speak a word, simply watching Janardana.' ॥ 2-42-26 ॥

हस्तैर हस्ताग्रम अपरे परत्यपीषन्न अमर्षिताः अपरे दशनैर ओष्ठान अदशन करॊधमूर्छिताः ॥ २-४२-२७ ॥
'Some of the kings, overcome by rage, rubbed their palms with their fingers, while others, driven mad with anger, bit their lips in frustration.' ॥ 2-42-27 ॥

रहस तु के चिद वार्ष्णेयं परशशंसुर नराधिपाः के चिद एव तु संरब्धा मध्यस्थास तव अपरे ऽभवन ॥ २-४२-२८ ॥
'Some of the kings privately applauded Krishna of the Vrishni race, while others, filled with anger, became agitated, and some took on the role of mediators.' ॥ 2-42-28 ॥

परहृष्टाः केशवं जग्मुः संस्तुवन्तॊ महर्षयः बराह्मणाश च महात्मानः पार्थिवाश च महाबलाः ॥ २-४२-२९ ॥
'The great Rishis, with pleased hearts, praised Kesava and departed.' ॥ 2-42-29 ॥

पाण्डवस तव अब्रवीद भरातॄन सत्कारेण महीपतिम दमघॊषात्मजं वीरं संसाधयत माचिरम तथा च कृतवन्तस ते भरातुर वै शासनं तदा ॥ २-४२-३० ॥
'Yudhishthira then instructed his brothers to promptly and respectfully perform the funeral rites for the brave King Shishupala, the son of Damaghosha. The Pandavas followed his command.' ॥ 2-42-30 ॥
