तथा बरुवत एवास्य भगवान मधुसूदनः वयपाहरच छिरॊ करुद्धश चक्रेणामित्र कर्षणः स पपात महाबाहुर वज्राहत इवाचलः ।। २-४२-२१ ।।

'As he was speaking thus, the Lord Madhusudana, Angry, cut off his head with the discus, the destroyer of enemies. That mighty-armed one fell, like a mountain struck by a thunderbolt.' ।। 2-42-21 ।।

english translation

tathA baruvata evAsya bhagavAna madhusUdanaH vayapAharaca chirò karuddhaza cakreNAmitra karSaNaH sa papAta mahAbAhura vajrAhata ivAcalaH || 2-42-21 ||

ततश चेदिपतेर देहात तेजॊ ऽगर्यं ददृशुर नृपाः उत्पतन्तं महाराज गगणाद इव भास्करम ।। २-४२-२२ ।।

'Then, O great king, the kings saw excellent radiance, Rising from the body of the lord of Chedi, like the sun ascending in the sky.' ।। 2-42-22 ।।

english translation

tataza cedipatera dehAta tejò 'garyaM dadRzura nRpAH utpatantaM mahArAja gagaNAda iva bhAskarama || 2-42-22 ||

ततः कमलपत्राक्षं कृष्णं लॊकनमस्कृतम ववन्दे तत तदा तेजॊ विवेश च नराधिप ।। २-४२-२३ ।।

'This energy, worshipped by all the worlds, approached Krishna, who has eyes like lotus petals, and entered his body.' ।। 2-42-23 ।।

english translation

tataH kamalapatrAkSaM kRSNaM lòkanamaskRtama vavande tata tadA tejò viveza ca narAdhipa || 2-42-23 ||

तद अद्भुतम अमन्यन्त दृष्ट्वा सर्वे महीक्षितः यद विवेश महाबाहुं तत तेजॊ पुरुषॊत्तमम ।। २-४२-२४ ।।

'The kings were awestruck by this wonder. After Krishna had slain the King of Chedi, the sky, though clear, poured rain, thunderbolts crashed, and the earth trembled.' ।। 2-42-24 ।।

tada adbhutama amanyanta dRSTvA sarve mahIkSitaH yada viveza mahAbAhuM tata tejò puruSòttamama || 2-42-24 ||

अनभ्रे परववर्ष दयौः पपात जवलिताशनिः कृष्णेन निहते चैद्ये चचाल च वसुंधरा ।। २-४२-२५ ।।

'In the clear sky, rain began to fall, lightning blazed, and the earth itself trembled when Krishna struck down the King of Chedi.' ।। 2-42-25 ।।
