'Let our enemies, O Bhishma, possess the prowess of Kesava, whom you, like a professional chanter of hymns, incessantly praise, rising repeatedly from your seat. If your mind delights so much in extolling others, then direct your praise to these kings instead, leaving Krishna aside.' ।। 2-41-6 ।।
'Extol the virtues of Druda, the Bahlika king, who is the finest among rulers, for the earth itself was said to have split open at the moment of his birth.' ।। 2-41-8 ।।
'O Bhishma, praise Karna, the ruler of Anga and Vanga, who is equal in strength to the one with a thousand eyes. He wields a massive bow and possesses mighty arms.' ।। 2-41-9 ।।
दरॊणं दरौणिं च साधु तवं पिता पुत्रौ महारथौ सतुहि सतुत्याव इमौ भीष्म सततं दविजसत्तमौ ।। २-४१-१० ।।
'O Bhishma, praise well Drona and Drauni, the father and son, both great warriors. These two, the best among the twice-born, are always worthy of praise.' ।। 2-41-10 ।।
