मा भैस तवं कुरुशार्दूल शवा सिंहं हन्तुम अर्हति शिवः पन्थाः सुनीतॊ ऽतर मया पूर्वतरं वृतः ॥ २-३७-६ ॥
'Fear not, O tiger of the Kurus. Can a dog slay a lion? I have previously discovered a method that is both beneficial and feasible.' ॥ 2-37-6 ॥
english translation
परसुप्ते हि यथा सिंहे शवानस तत्र समागताः भषेयुः सहिताः सर्वे तथेमे वसुधाधिपाः ॥ २-३७-७ ॥
'Just as a pack of dogs bark at a sleeping lion, these kings are venting their anger in vain before the Vrishni lion, who remains unaffected.' ॥ 2-37-7 ॥
english translation
वृष्णिसिंहस्य सुप्तस्य तथेमे परमुखे सथिताः भषन्ते तात संक्रुद्धाः शवानः सिंहस्य संनिधौ ॥ २-३७-८ ॥
'O dear one, these angry ones standing before the sleeping lion of the Vrishnis are like dogs barking in the presence of a lion.' ॥ 2-37-8 ॥
english translation
न हि संबुध्यते तावत सुप्तः सिंह इवाच्युतः तेन सिंही करॊत्य एतान नृसिंहश चेदिपुंगवः ॥ २-३७-९ ॥
'Achyuta is now like a sleeping lion. Until he awakens, this chief of the Chedis, who is like a lion among men, makes these monarchs appear as mere dogs before a lion.' ॥ 2-37-9 ॥

पार्थिवान पार्थिवश्रेष्ठ शिशुपालॊ ऽलपचेतनः सर्वान सर्वात्मना तात नेतु कामॊ यमक्षयम ॥ २-३७-१० ॥
'O child, O foremost of all monarchs, this Sisupala, of limited intelligence, seeks to lead all these kings, through the agency of the one who is the soul of the universe, to the realms of Yama.' ॥ 2-37-10 ॥
