नूनम एतत समादातुं पुनर इच्छत्य अधॊ ऽकषजः यद अस्य शिशुपालस्थं तेजस तिष्ठति भारत ॥ २-३७-११ ॥
'Assuredly, O Bharata, Vishnu is desirous of reclaiming the energy that resides in Sisupala. O foremost among the wise.' ॥ 2-37-11 ॥
english translation
nUnama etata samAdAtuM punara icchatya adhò 'kaSajaH yada asya zizupAlasthaM tejasa tiSThati bhArata ॥ 2-37-11 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptविप्लुता चास्य भद्रं ते बुद्धिर बुद्धिमतां वर चेदिराजस्य कौन्तेय सर्वेषां च महीक्षिताम ॥ २-३७-१२ ॥
'O son of Kunti, the wisdom of this wicked-minded king of the Chedis, as well as of all these monarchs, has become perverse.' ॥ 2-37-12 ॥
english translation
viplutA cAsya bhadraM te buddhira buddhimatAM vara cedirAjasya kaunteya sarveSAM ca mahIkSitAma ॥ 2-37-12 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptआदातुं हि नरव्याघ्रॊ यं यम इच्छत्य अयं यदा तस्य विप्लवते बुद्धिर एवं चेदिपतेर यथा ॥ २-३७-१३ ॥
'Indeed, the intelligence of all those whom this tiger among men seeks to influence is distorted, just as that of this king of the Chedis.' ॥ 2-37-13 ॥

AdAtuM hi naravyAghrò yaM yama icchatya ayaM yadA tasya viplavate buddhira evaM cedipatera yathA ॥ 2-37-13 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptचतुर्विधानां भूतानां तरिषु लॊकेषु माधवः परभवश चैव सर्वेषां निधनं च युधिष्ठिर ॥ २-३७-१४ ॥
'O Yudhishthira, Madhava is both the creator and the destroyer of all beings—whether oviparous, viviparous, born from filth, or vegetal—existing across the three worlds.' ॥ 2-37-14 ॥

caturvidhAnAM bhUtAnAM tariSu lòkeSu mAdhavaH parabhavaza caiva sarveSAM nidhanaM ca yudhiSThira ॥ 2-37-14 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptइति तस्य वचॊ शरुत्वा ततश चेदिपतिर नृपः भीष्मं रूक्षाक्षरा वाचः शरावयाम आस भारत ॥ २-३७-१५ ॥
'Vaisampayana continued--Then the ruler of Chedis, having heard these words of Bhishma, addressed the latter, O Bharata, in words that were stern and rough.' ॥ 2-37-15 ॥
