अद्य धर्मात्मता चैव वयपकृष्टा युधिष्ठिरात कृपणत्वं निविष्टं च कृष्णे ऽरघ्यस्य निवेदनात ॥ २-३४-१६ ॥
'Today, righteousness has been abandoned by Yudhishthira, and meanness has been displayed by him in offering the Arghya to Krishna.' ॥ 2-34-16 ॥
english translation
यदि भीताश च कौन्तेयाः कृपणाश च तपस्विनः ननु तवयापि बॊद्धव्यं यां पूजां माधवॊ ऽरहति ॥ २-३४-१७ ॥
'O son of Kunti, if even the fearful, the miserly, and the ascetics should worship Madhava (Krishna), then surely you too should understand the worship that He deserves.' ॥ 2-34-17 ॥
english translation
अथ वा कृपणैर एताम उपनीतां जनार्दन पूजाम अनर्हः कस्मात तवम अभ्यनुज्ञातवान असि ॥ २-३४-१८ ॥
'O Janardana (Krishna), why did you accept the worship offered by those wretched and mean-minded princes, even though you are unworthy of it?' ॥ 2-34-18 ॥
english translation
अयुक्ताम आत्मनः पूजां तवं पुनर बहु मन्यसे हविषः पराप्य निष्यन्दं पराशितुं शवेव निर्जने ॥ २-३४-१९ ॥
'You highly value the worship that is inappropriate for yourself, like a dog in a deserted place eager to lick up the remnants of an oblation.' ॥ 2-34-19 ॥
english translation
न तव अयं पार्थिवेन्द्राणाम अवमानः परयुज्यते तवाम एव कुरवॊ वयक्तं परलम्भन्ते जनार्दन ॥ २-३४-२० ॥
'O Janardana (Krishna), this is not an insult to the monarchs; rather, it is you whom the Kurus have insulted.' ॥ 2-34-20 ॥
