[व] रक्षणाद धर्मराजस्य सत्यस्य परिपालनात शत्रूणां कषपणाच चैव सवकर्मनिरताः परजाः ॥ २-३०-१ ॥
'Vaisampayana said: "O Janamejaya, due to the protection and just rule of Yudhishthira, the king who adhered to truth, and the control he exercised over his enemies, the subjects were able to engage in their work with diligence."' ॥ 2-30-1 ॥

[va] rakSaNAda dharmarAjasya satyasya paripAlanAta zatrUNAM kaSapaNAca caiva savakarmaniratAH parajAH ॥ 2-30-1 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptबलीनां सम्यग आदानाद धर्मतश चानुशासनात निकामवर्षी पर्जन्यः सफीतॊ जनपदॊ ऽभवत ॥ २-३०-२ ॥
'Thanks to his fair taxation and virtuous governance, the rains were abundant according to the people's needs, and the cities and towns thrived in prosperity.' ॥ 2-30-2 ॥

balInAM samyaga AdAnAda dharmataza cAnuzAsanAta nikAmavarSI parjanyaH saphItò janapadò 'bhavata ॥ 2-30-2 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptसर्वारम्भाः सुप्रवृत्ता गॊरक्षं कर्षणं वनिक विशेषात सर्वम एवैतत संजज्ञे राजकर्मणः ॥ २-३०-३ ॥
'Indeed, as a result of the king's actions, every aspect of the kingdom, including cattle breeding, agriculture, and trade, flourished exceedingly.' ॥ 2-30-3 ॥

sarvArambhAH supravRttA gòrakSaM karSaNaM vanika vizeSAta sarvama evaitata saMjajJe rAjakarmaNaH ॥ 2-30-3 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptदस्युभ्यॊ वञ्चकेभ्यॊ वा राजन परति परस्परम राजवल्लभतश चैव नाश्रूयन्त मृषा गिरः ॥ २-३०-४ ॥
'O king, during that time, even thieves and swindlers, as well as the king's favorites, refrained from deceitful behavior.' ॥ 2-30-4 ॥

dasyubhyò vaJcakebhyò vA rAjana parati parasparama rAjavallabhataza caiva nAzrUyanta mRSA giraH ॥ 2-30-4 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअवर्षं चातिवर्षं च वयाधिपावक मूर्छनम सर्वम एतत तदा नासीद धर्मनित्ये युधिष्ठिरे ॥ २-३०-५ ॥
'During the reign of Yudhishthira, devoted to virtue, there were neither droughts, floods, plagues, fires, nor premature deaths.' ॥ 2-30-5 ॥
