भीष्मकाय स धर्मात्मा साक्षाद इन्द्र सखाय वै स चास्य ससुतॊ राजन परतिजग्राह शासनम ॥ २-२८-४१ ॥
'Rukmin, who was both wealthy and intelligent, was a friend of Indra himself. The monarch, along with his son, recalling their connection with Krishna, gladly accepted the authority of the son of Pandu.' ॥ 2-28-41 ॥
english translation
bhISmakAya sa dharmAtmA sAkSAda indra sakhAya vai sa cAsya sasutò rAjana paratijagrAha zAsanama ॥ 2-28-41 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptपरीतिपूर्वं महाबाहुर वासुदेवम अवेक्ष्य च ततः स रत्नान्य आदाय पुनः परायाद युधां पतिः ॥ २-२८-४२ ॥
'The master of battle then, having exacted jewels and wealth from King Rukmin, continued his march southward.' ॥ 2-28-42 ॥

parItipUrvaM mahAbAhura vAsudevama avekSya ca tataH sa ratnAnya AdAya punaH parAyAda yudhAM patiH ॥ 2-28-42 ॥

'Endowed with great energy and strength, the hero next subdued Surparaka, Talakata, and the Dandakas.' ॥ 2-28-43 ॥

tataH zUrpArakaM caiva gaNaM còpakRtAhvayama vaze cakre mahAtejA daNDakAMza ca mahAbalaH ॥ 2-28-43 ॥

'The Kuru warrior then defeated and brought under his control numerous kings of the Mlechchha tribe residing along the coast, as well as the Nishadas, cannibals, and the Karnapravarnas.' ॥ 2-28-44 ॥

sAgaradvIpavAsAMza ca nRpatIna maleccha yònijAna niSAdAna puruSAdAMza ca karNaprAvaraNAna api ॥ 2-28-44 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptये च कालमुखा नाम नरा राक्षसयॊनयः कृत्स्नं कॊल्ल गिरिं चैव मुरची पत्तनं तथा ॥ २-२८-४५ ॥
'And those men called Kalamukhas, born of Rakshasa lineage, as well as the entire Kolla mountain and the city of Murchi.' ॥ 2-28-45 ॥
