ततॊ दक्षिणमल्लांश च भॊगवन्तं च पाण्डवः तरसैवाजयद भीमॊ नातितीव्रेण कर्मणा ॥ २-२७-११ ॥
'Then Bhima, with minimal effort and in a short time, subdued the southern Mallas and the Bhagauanta mountains.' ॥ 2-27-11 ॥

शर्मकान वर्मकांश चैव सान्त्वेनैवाजयत परभुः वैदेहकं च राजानं जनकं जगतीपतिम विजिग्ये पुरुषव्याघ्रॊ नातितीव्रेण कर्मणा ॥ २-२७-१२ ॥
'The lord conquered the Sharmakans and Varmakans through conciliation alone. And the tiger among men conquered the king of Videha, Janaka, the lord of the earth, through not too severe actions.' ॥ 2-27-12 ॥

वैदेहस्थस तु कौन्तेय इन्द्र पर्वतम अन्तिकात किरातानाम अधिपतीन वयजयत सप्त पाण्डवः ॥ २-२७-१३ ॥
'The son of Pandu, launching expeditions from Videha, also conquered the seven kings of the Kiratas residing near Mount Indra.' ॥ 2-27-13 ॥

ततः सुह्मान पराच्य सुह्मान समक्षांश चैव वीर्यवान विजित्य युधि कौन्तेयॊ मागधान उपयाद बली ॥ २-२७-१४ ॥
'The mighty hero, endowed with immense energy, then defeated the Submas and the Prasuhmas in battle. Having brought them under his control, the son of Kunti, possessed of great strength, proceeded to march against Magadha.' ॥ 2-27-14 ॥

दण्डं च दण्डधारं च विजित्य पृथिवीपतीन तैर एव सहितः सर्वैर गिरिव्रजम उपाद्रवत ॥ २-२७-१५ ॥
'On his way, he subdued the monarchs known as Danda and Dandadhara. Accompanied by these kings, the son of Pandu then marched towards Girivraja.' ॥ 2-27-15 ॥
