[व] ततः कुमार विषये शरेणिमन्तम अथाजयत कॊसलाधिपतिं चैव बृहद्बलम अरिंदमः ।। २-२७-१ ।।

'Vaisampayana said: "That chastiser of all foes then defeated King Srenimat of the Kumara region, followed by Vrihadvala, the king of Kosala.' ।। 2-27-1 ।।

english translation

[va] tataH kumAra viSaye zareNimantama athAjayata kòsalAdhipatiM caiva bRhadbalama ariMdamaH || 2-27-1 ||

'The foremost of the Pandavas, by performing feats of extraordinary valor, also vanquished the virtuous and powerful King Dirghayaghna of Ayodhya.' ।। 2-27-2 ।।

'The exalted one then subjugated the land of Gopalakaksha, the northern Kosalas, and the king of the Mallas.' ।। 2-27-3 ।।

'Thus, the foremost of the Bharata race subdued various countries. Endowed with immense energy and unparalleled strength, the son of Pandu conquered the land of Bhallata and the adjacent mountain of Kukshimanta next. The Pandava, renowned for his great valor and strength, was the foremost among the mighty.' ।। 2-27-5 ।।

evaM bahuvidhAna dezAna vijitya puruSarSabhaH unnATama abhitò jigye kukSimantaM ca parvatama pANDavaH sumahAvIryò balena balinAM varaH || 2-27-5 ||
