सकल दवीपवासांश च सप्त दवीपे च ये नृपाः अर्जुनस्य च सैन्यानां विग्रहस तुमुलॊ ऽभवत ॥ २-२३-१६ ॥
'The kings residing on all the islands and the seven islands, and also the mighty conflict of Arjuna's army, became tumultuous.' ॥ 2-23-16 ॥

sakala davIpavAsAMza ca sapta davIpe ca ye nRpAH arjunasya ca sainyAnAM vigrahasa tumulò 'bhavata ॥ 2-23-16 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptस तान अपि महेष्वासॊ विजित्य भरतर्षभ तैर एव सहितः सर्वैः पराग्ज्यॊतिषम उपाद्रवत ॥ २-२३-१७ ॥
'O Bull among the Bharatas, that great archer, having conquered them, Joined by all of them, advanced towards Pragjyotisha.' ॥ 2-23-17 ॥

sa tAna api maheSvAsò vijitya bharatarSabha taira eva sahitaH sarvaiH parAgjyòtiSama upAdravata ॥ 2-23-17 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतत्र राजा महान आसीद भगदत्तॊ विशां पते तेनासीत सुमहद युद्धं पाण्डवस्य महात्मनः ॥ २-२३-१८ ॥
'There was a great king there, Bhagadatta, O Lord of the people. With him, there was a mighty battle of the great-souled Pandava.' ॥ 2-23-18 ॥

'He, the ruler of Pragjyotisha, was surrounded by Kiratas and Chinas, And many other warriors who dwelt on the sea coast.' ॥ 2-23-19 ॥

'Thereafter, having fought for eight days, he laughed and spoke to Arjuna, the king, who was exhausted from the battle.' ॥ 2-23-20 ॥
