[व] पार्थः पराप्य धनुःश्रेष्ठम अक्षय्यौ च महेषुधी रथं धवजं सभां चैव युधिष्ठिरम अभाषत ॥ २-२३-१ ॥
'Vaisampayana said: Arjuna, having acquired the finest bow, a pair of inexhaustible quivers, a chariot, a flagstaff, and an assembly hall, addressed Yudhishthira.' ॥ 2-23-1 ॥
english translation
[va] pArthaH parApya dhanuHzreSThama akSayyau ca maheSudhI rathaM dhavajaM sabhAM caiva yudhiSThirama abhASata ॥ 2-23-1 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptधनुर अस्त्रं शरा वीर्यं पक्षॊ भूमिर यशॊबलम पराप्तम एतन मया राजन दुष्प्रापं यद अभीप्सितम ॥ २-२३-२ ॥
'Yudhishthira said: "O King, I have obtained the bow, weapons, great energy, allies, territory, fame, and an army—all of which are difficult to acquire yet highly desirable."' ॥ 2-23-2 ॥

dhanura astraM zarA vIryaM pakSò bhUmira yazòbalama parAptama etana mayA rAjana duSprApaM yada abhIpsitama ॥ 2-23-2 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतत्र कृत्यम अहं मन्ये कॊशस्यास्य विवर्धनम करम आहारयिष्यामि राज्ञः सर्वान नृपॊत्तम ॥ २-२३-३ ॥
'I desire, O best of monarchs, to make the kings of the earth pay tribute to us.' ॥ 2-23-3 ॥

tatra kRtyama ahaM manye kòzasyAsya vivardhanama karama AhArayiSyAmi rAjJaH sarvAna nRpòttama ॥ 2-23-3 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptविजयाय परयास्यामि दिशं धनद रक्षिताम तिथाव अथ मुहूर्ते च नक्षत्रे च तथा शिवे ॥ २-२३-४ ॥
'I wish to set out at an auspicious moment, on a holy day of the moon under a favorable constellation, for the conquest of the northern direction, which is presided over by the Lord of Treasures.' ॥ 2-23-4 ॥

vijayAya parayAsyAmi dizaM dhanada rakSitAma tithAva atha muhUrte ca nakSatre ca tathA zive ॥ 2-23-4 ॥
