शक्र विष्णू हि संग्रामे चेरतुस तारका मये रथेन तेन तं कृष्ण उपारुह्य ययौ तदा ॥ २-२२-१६ ॥
'It was on this chariot that Indra and Vishnu had once fought in the ancient battle against the Asuras, where Taraka, the wife of Vrihaspati, became the cause of great slaughter. And riding upon that car Krishna now came out of the hill-fort.' ॥ 2-22-16 ॥
english translation
zakra viSNU hi saMgrAme ceratusa tArakA maye rathena tena taM kRSNa upAruhya yayau tadA ॥ 2-22-16 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतप्तचामीकराभेण किङ्किणीजालमालिना मेघनिर्घॊषनादेन जैत्रेणामित्र घातिना ॥ २-२२-१७ ॥
'Adorned with the brilliance of heated gold, embellished with rows of jingling bells, and equipped with wheels whose noise resembled the roar of clouds, this chariot was perpetually victorious in battle, always defeating its foes.' ॥ 2-22-17 ॥

taptacAmIkarAbheNa kiGkiNIjAlamAlinA meghanirghòSanAdena jaitreNAmitra ghAtinA ॥ 2-22-17 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptयेन शक्रॊ दानवानां जघान नवतीर नव तं पराप्य समहृष्यन्त रथं ते पुरुषर्षभाः ॥ २-२२-१८ ॥
'It was upon this chariot that Indra had once slain ninety-nine Asuras in ancient times.' ॥ 2-22-18 ॥
english translation
yena zakrò dAnavAnAM jaghAna navatIra nava taM parApya samahRSyanta rathaM te puruSarSabhAH ॥ 2-22-18 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptततः कृष्णं महाबाहुं भरातृभ्यां सहितं तदा रथस्थं मागधा दृष्ट्वा समपद्यन्त विस्मिताः ॥ २-२२-१९ ॥
'The three cousins, those bulls among men, were exceedingly pleased upon receiving that chariot. The people of Magadha marveled greatly upon seeing Krishna, the long-armed one, along with his two brothers seated in Jarasandha's chariot.' ॥ 2-22-19 ॥

tataH kRSNaM mahAbAhuM bharAtRbhyAM sahitaM tadA rathasthaM mAgadhA dRSTvA samapadyanta vismitAH ॥ 2-22-19 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptहयैर दिव्यैः समायुक्तॊ रथॊ वायुसमॊ जवे अधिष्ठितः स शुशुभे कृष्णेनातीव भारत ॥ २-२२-२० ॥
'O Bharata, that chariot, drawn by celestial horses and swift as the wind, adorned with Krishna, appeared exceedingly beautiful.' ॥ 2-22-20 ॥
