सवर्गयॊनिर जयॊ राजन सवर्गयॊनिर महद यशः सवर्गयॊनिस तपॊ युद्धे मार्गः सॊ ऽवयभिचारवान ॥ २-२०-१६ ॥
'Attaining heaven through the other three acts may be uncertain, but death in battle certainly leads to it. Death in battle is the assured path to triumph akin to Indra's. It is adorned with numerous merits.' ॥ 2-20-16 ॥

एष हय ऐन्द्रॊ वैजयन्तॊ गुणॊ नित्यं समाहितः येनासुरान पराजित्य जगत पाति शतक्रतुः ॥ २-२०-१७ ॥
'This is why Indra, renowned for his hundred sacrifices, attained his stature, ruling the universe by defeating the Asuras.' ॥ 2-20-17 ॥

सवर्गम आस्थाय कस्य सयाद विग्रहित्वं यथा तव मागधैर विपुलैः सैन्यैर बाहुल्य बलदर्पितैः ॥ २-२०-१८ ॥
'Who else but you, proud of the formidable strength of your vast Magadha army, can ensure such certain passage to heaven through conflict?' ॥ 2-20-18 ॥

मावमन्स्थाः परान राजन नास्ति वीर्यं नरे नरे समं तेजस तवया चैव केवलं मनुजेश्वर ॥ २-२०-१९ ॥
'Do not underestimate others, O king, for valor resides in every man. O ruler of men, there are many whose valor may be equal to or even surpass yours.' ॥ 2-20-19 ॥

यावद एव न संबुद्धं तावद एव भवेत तव विषह्यम एतद अस्माकम अतॊ राजन बरवीमि ते ॥ २-२०-२० ॥
'Until these truths are recognized, your reputation for valor will persist. Your strength, O king, is acknowledged by us.' ॥ 2-20-20 ॥
