तथैव भीमसेनॊ ऽपि यमाभ्यां सहितॊ वशी पृष्ठतॊ ऽनुययौ कृष्णम ऋत्विक पौरजनैर वृतः ।। २-२-१६ ।।

sanskrit

'Accompanied by the mighty Bhimasena, as well as the twin brothers Nakula and Sahadeva, along with the priests and citizens, Krishna was followed from behind.' ।। 2-2-16 ।।

english translation

tathaiva bhImasenò 'pi yamAbhyAM sahitò vazI pRSThatò 'nuyayau kRSNama Rtvika paurajanaira vRtaH || 2-2-16 ||

hk transliteration

स तथा भरातृभिः सार्धं केशवः परवीरहा अनुगम्यमानः शुशुभे शिष्यैर इव गुरुः परियैः ।। २-२-१७ ।।

sanskrit

'Kesava, the destroyer of foes, followed by all his brothers, radiated like a mentor surrounded by his cherished disciples.' ।। 2-2-17 ।।

english translation

sa tathA bharAtRbhiH sArdhaM kezavaH paravIrahA anugamyamAnaH zuzubhe ziSyaira iva guruH pariyaiH || 2-2-17 ||

hk transliteration

पार्थम आमन्त्र्य गॊविन्दः परिष्वज्य च पीडितम युधिष्ठिरं पूजयित्वा भीमसेनं यमौ तथा ।। २-२-१८ ।।

sanskrit

'Inviting Arjuna, Govinda (Krishna) embraced and comforted him. After honoring Yudhishthira, he also showed reverence to Bhimasena and Yama.' ।। 2-2-18 ।।

english translation

pArthama Amantrya gòvindaH pariSvajya ca pIDitama yudhiSThiraM pUjayitvA bhImasenaM yamau tathA || 2-2-18 ||

hk transliteration

परिष्वक्तॊ भृशं ताभ्यां यमाभ्याम अभिवादितः ततस तैः संविदं कृत्वा यथावन मधुसूदनः ।। २-२-१९ ।।

sanskrit

'Having embraced them warmly and respectfully saluted Yama, Madhusudana (Krishna) then engaged in conversation with them as was appropriate.' ।। 2-2-19 ।।

english translation

pariSvaktò bhRzaM tAbhyAM yamAbhyAma abhivAditaH tatasa taiH saMvidaM kRtvA yathAvana madhusUdanaH || 2-2-19 ||

hk transliteration

निवर्तयित्वा च तदा पाण्डवान सपदानुगान सवां पुरीं परययौ कृष्णः पुरंदर इवापरः ।। २-२-२० ।।

sanskrit

'Govinda, well-versed in all duties, respectfully bowed down to Yudhishthira and clasped his feet. Yudhishthira, the righteous king and son of Pandu, then lifted Kesava and affectionately embraced him, smelling his head. Afterward, Yudhishthira, bidding farewell to Krishna, the foremost of the Yadava lineage with eyes like lotus petals, said, "Farewell!"' ।। 2-2-20 ।।

nivartayitvA ca tadA pANDavAna sapadAnugAna savAM purIM parayayau kRSNaH puraMdara ivAparaH || 2-2-20 ||
