गण्डकीयां तथा शॊणं सदा नीरां तथैव च एकपर्वतके नद्यः करमेणैत्य वरजन्ति ते ।। २-१८-२७ ।।
'Passing over the Kalakuta hills, they proceeded to cross rivers like the Gandaki, Sadanira (Karatoya), Sarkaravarta, and other rivers originating from the same mountains.' ।। 2-18-27 ।।
उत्तीर्य गङ्गां शॊणं च सर्वे ते पराङ्मुखास तरयः कुरवॊरश छदं जग्मुर मागधं कषेत्रम अच्युताः ।। २-१८-२९ ।।
'They crossed the delightful Sarayu and explored the lands of Eastern Kosala. Passing through that region, they journeyed to Mithila. Crossing the rivers Mala and Charamanwati, the three heroes crossed the Ganges and the Sone, continuing eastward. Finally, these heroes of enduring glory arrived in Magadha, at the heart of Kushamva.' ।। 2-18-29 ।।
'Upon reaching the Goratha hills, they beheld the city of Magadha, abundant with cattle, wealth, water, and adorned with countless trees.' ।। 2-18-30 ।।
