एवम उक्तास ततः सर्वे भरातरॊ विपुलौजसः वार्ष्णेयः पाण्डवेयौ च परतस्थुर मागधं परति ॥ २-१८-२१ ॥
'Vaisampayana said, "Thus addressed by Yudhishthira, Krishna, Arjuna, and Bhima—each endowed with great energy—set out for Magadha."' ॥ 2-18-21 ॥
english translation
evama uktAsa tataH sarve bharAtarò vipulaujasaH vArSNeyaH pANDaveyau ca paratasthura mAgadhaM parati ॥ 2-18-21 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptवर्चस्विनां बराह्मणानां सनातकानां परिच्छदान आच्छाद्य सुहृदां वाक्यैर मनॊज्ञैर अभिनन्दिताः ॥ २-१८-२२ ॥
'They adorned the venerable ascetic sages, known as Sanatakumāras, with their pleasing and respectful words.' ॥ 2-18-22 ॥

varcasvinAM barAhmaNAnAM sanAtakAnAM paricchadAna AcchAdya suhRdAM vAkyaira manòjJaira abhinanditAH ॥ 2-18-22 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअमर्षाद अभितप्तानां जञात्यर्थं मुख्यवाससाम रविसॊमाग्निवपुषां भीमम आसीत तदा वपुः ॥ २-१८-२३ ॥
'Endowed with immense energy and bodies radiant like the Sun, the Moon, and Fire, their wrath ignited by the plight of their kin, their forms blazed even brighter.' ॥ 2-18-23 ॥

amarSAda abhitaptAnAM jaJAtyarthaM mukhyavAsasAma ravisòmAgnivapuSAM bhImama AsIta tadA vapuH ॥ 2-18-23 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptहतं मेने जरासंधं दृष्ट्वा भीम पुरॊगमौ एककार्यसमुद्युक्तौ कृष्णौ युद्धे ऽपराजितौ ॥ २-१८-२४ ॥
'Seeing Krishna and Arjuna, undefeated in battle, with Bhima leading the charge, the people believed that Jarasandha was already defeated, as they were all prepared to achieve the same task.' ॥ 2-18-24 ॥

hataM mene jarAsaMdhaM dRSTvA bhIma purògamau ekakAryasamudyuktau kRSNau yuddhe 'parAjitau ॥ 2-18-24 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptईशौ हि तौ महात्मानौ सर्वकार्यप्रवर्तने धर्मार्थकामकार्याणां कार्याणाम इव निग्रहे ॥ २-१८-२५ ॥
'For the illustrious pair, Krishna and Arjuna, were masters who directed every operation in the universe, including all actions related to the morality, wealth, and pleasure of every being.' ॥ 2-18-25 ॥
