अथ दृष्ट्वा तथा भूते राजानं चेष्ट संततिम तं च बालं सुबलिनं चिन्तयाम आस राक्षसी ॥ २-१६-४५ ॥
'Upon seeing the queens in such a state and noting the king's intense desire for an heir, the female cannibal, witnessing the child's extraordinary strength, thought to herself.' ॥ 2-16-45 ॥
english translation
atha dRSTvA tathA bhUte rAjAnaM ceSTa saMtatima taM ca bAlaM subalinaM cintayAma Asa rAkSasI ॥ 2-16-45 ॥
