'O holy one, I am forsaking my kingdom to retire into the forest for ascetic practices. I am extremely unfortunate as I have no son. What use do I have for a kingdom or any boon?' ।। 2-16-26 ।।
'Krishna continued,--"Hearing these words (of the king), the Muni controlling his outer senses entered into meditation, sitting in the shade of that very mango tree where he was.' ।। 2-16-27 ।।
'Taking up the fruit, that best of sages uttered certain mantras over it and presented it to the king as the means to obtain an incomparable offspring.' ।। 2-16-29 ।।
'The great sage, endowed with extraordinary wisdom, addressed the monarch, saying, "O king, your wish is fulfilled. Therefore, refrain from proceeding into the woods."' ।। 2-16-30 ।।
