अथ काक्षीवतः पुत्रं गौतमस्य महात्मनः शुश्राव तपसि शरान्तम उदारं चण्डकौशिकम ॥ २-१६-२२ ॥
'One day, the king learned that the noble Chanda-Kausika, son of Kakshivat from the illustrious Gautama lineage, who had temporarily ceased his ascetic practices, had arrived in his capital and was seated under the shade of a mango tree during his wanderings.' ॥ 2-16-22 ॥

atha kAkSIvataH putraM gautamasya mahAtmanaH zuzrAva tapasi zarAntama udAraM caNDakauzikama ॥ 2-16-22 ॥
