मङ्गलैर बहुभिर हॊमैः पुत्र कामाभिर इष्टिभिः नाससाद नृपश्रेष्ठः पुत्रं कुलविवर्धनम ॥ २-१६-२१ ॥
'The most distinguished monarch, despite conducting numerous auspicious rituals, homas, and sacrifices with the desire for progeny, failed to obtain a son to continue his lineage.' ॥ 2-16-21 ॥
