यस्मिन सर्वं संभवति यश च सर्वत्र पूज्यते यश च सर्वेश्वरॊ राजा राजसूयं स विन्दति ॥ २-१२-३६ ॥
'Only he who embodies limitless potential, receives universal worship, and reigns as the king of kings can achieve this sacrifice.' ॥ 2-12-36 ॥
english translation
तं राजसूयं सुहृदः कार्यम आहुः समेत्य मे तत्र मे निश्चिततमं तव कृष्णगिरा भवेत ॥ २-१२-३७ ॥
'My friends and counselors have advised me to perform the Rajasuya sacrifice. However, O Krishna, your words shall be my ultimate guidance in this matter.' ॥ 2-12-37 ॥

केचिद धि सौहृदाद एव दॊषं न परिचक्षते अर्थहेतॊस तथैवान्ये परियम एव वदन्त्य उत ॥ २-१२-३८ ॥
'Some counselors overlook difficulties out of friendship, while others speak agreeable words motivated by self-interest.' ॥ 2-12-38 ॥

परियम एव परीप्सन्ते के चिद आत्मणि यद धितम एवं परायाश च दृश्यन्ते जनवादाः परयॊजने ॥ २-१२-३९ ॥
'Some desire only what is pleasing to themselves, even if it is harmful. Thus, in most cases, popular opinions are seen to serve a purpose.' ॥ 2-12-39 ॥

तवं तु हेतून अतीत्यैतान कामक्रॊधौ वयतीत्य च परमं नः कषमं लॊके यथावद वक्तुम अर्हसि ॥ २-१२-४० ॥
'However, O Krishna, you transcend these motivations. You have conquered both desire and anger. It is fitting for you to advise me on what is most beneficial for the world.' ॥ 2-12-40 ॥
