इत्य एवं सुहृदः सर्वे पृथक च सह चाब्रुवन स धर्म्यं पाण्डवस तेषां वचॊ शरुत्वा विशां पते धृष्टम इष्टं वरिष्ठं च जग्राह मनसारिहा ।। २-१२-१६ ।।
'O mighty-armed one, you are fully capable of performing this sacrifice. We all pledge our obedience to you. Great king, soon you will be ready to undertake the Rajasuya sacrifice. Therefore, let your decision to perform this sacrifice be firm, without further deliberation.' ।। 2-12-16 ।।
शरुत्वा सुहृद वचस तच च जानंश चाप्य आत्मनः कषमम पुनः पुनर मनॊ दध्रे राजसूयाय भारत ।। २-१२-१७ ।।
'All his friends and counselors spoke thus to the king, individually and collectively. O king, Yudhishthira, the conqueror of all foes, listened to their virtuous, courageous, pleasing, and profound words. Mentally accepting their counsel, he deliberated repeatedly. Having heard the advice from his friends and counselors and considering his own capabilities, O descendant of Bharata, the king contemplated the matter repeatedly.' ।। 2-12-17 ।।
स भरातृभिः पुनर धीमान ऋत्विग्भिश च महात्मभिः धौम्य दवैपायनाद्यैश च मन्त्रयाम आस मन्त्रिभिः ।। २-१२-१८ ।।
'After this, the intelligent and virtuous Yudhishthira, skilled in counsel, consulted once more with his brothers, the eminent Ritwijas present there, his ministers, as well as with Dhaumya, Dwaipayana (Vyasa), and others.' ।। 2-12-18 ।।
[य] इयं या राजसूयस्य सम्राड अर्हस्य सुक्रतॊः शरद्दधानस्य वदतः सपृहा मे सा कथं भवेत ।। २-१२-१९ ।।
'Yudhishthira said, "How can my desire to perform the excellent Rajasuya sacrifice, worthy of an emperor, be fulfilled through my faith and words alone?"' ।। 2-12-19 ।।
'Vaisampayana said, "O king with eyes like lotus-petals, thus questioned by you, they responded at that moment to Yudhishthira the just with these words: 'O king, being well-versed in moral principles, you are worthy to perform the grand Rajasuya sacrifice.'"' ।। 2-12-20 ।।
[va] evama uktAsa tu te tena rAjJA rAjIvalòcana idama Ucura vacò kAle dharmAtmAnaM yudhiSThirama arhasa tavama asi dharmajJa rAjasUyaM mahAkratuma || 2-12-20 ||
