येनाभिषिक्तॊ नृपतिर वारुणं गुणम ऋच्छति तेन राजापि सन कृत्स्नं सम्राड गुणम अभीप्सति ।। २-१२-११ ।।

sanskrit

'A king who already possesses a kingdom desires all the attributes of an emperor through the Rajasuya sacrifice, which aids in acquiring the qualities of Varuna.' ।। 2-12-11 ।।

english translation

yenAbhiSiktò nRpatira vAruNaM guNama Rcchati tena rAjApi sana kRtsnaM samrADa guNama abhIpsati || 2-12-11 ||

'O prince of the Kuru lineage, your advisors believe that as you are worthy of the attributes of an emperor, the time has indeed come for you to conduct the Rajasuya sacrifice.' ।। 2-12-12 ।।

tasya samrADa guNArhasya bhavataH kurunandana rAjasUyasya samayaM manyante suhRdasa tava || 2-12-12 ||

'The time has come for you to perform that sacrifice, wherein Rishis of austere vows kindle six fires with Sama Veda mantras, due to your possession of Kshatriya wealth.' ।। 2-12-13 ।।

tasya yajJasya samayaH savAdhInaH kaSatrasaMpadA sAmnA SaDa agnayò yasmiMza cIyante saMzitavrataiH || 2-12-13 ||

'After the Rajasuya sacrifice, when the performer is enthroned in the sovereignty of the empire, he receives the rewards of all sacrifices, including the Agnihotra. It is for this reason that he is hailed as the conqueror of all.' ।। 2-12-14 ।।

darvI hòmAna upAdAya sarvAna yaH parApnute karatUna abhiSekaM ca yajJAnte sarvajita tena còcyate || 2-12-14 ||
