प्रवृत्तरतिचक्राणां न स्थानमस्थानं वा विद्यत इति सुवर्णनाभः ॥ ६ ॥
According to Suvarnanabha, "In the heat of union, people are not aware of the parts of the body that they can scratch and those they should avoid."

समागम में प्रवृत्त व्यक्तियों (नायक एवं नायिका) को यह ज्ञान ही नहीं रहता कि कहाँ नखक्षत करने चाहिये और कहाँ नहीं ऐसा आचार्य सुवर्णनाभ का मत है॥ ६ ॥

तत्र सव्यहस्तानि प्रत्यग्रशिखराणि द्वित्रिशिखराणि चण्डवेगयोर्नखानि स्युः ॥७॥
The nails of the left hand should be long and pointed. Some people cut them into two or three points. They are then known as nails of aggression.

नखों का आश्रय और स्वरूप पण्डवेग नायक-नायिकाओं के बायें हाथ के नख लम्बे और नुकीले होते हैं और उनमें दो-तीन नोकें निकली रहती है ॥ ७ ॥

अनुगतराजि सममुज्ज्वलममलिनमविपाटितं विवर्धिष्णु मृदुस्निग्धदर्शनमिति नखगुणाः ॥ ८ ॥
Fingernails have eight qualities: the cross-lines are of the same color as the nails themselves; they are all of the same length, shiny, clean, without broken edges, strong, smooth, nice to look at.

अच्छे नखों में ये गुण- (१) मध्यवर्ती रेखाएं भिन्न वर्ण वाली न हों, (२) समतल हों, ऊँचे-नीचे न हों, (३) सहज कान्ति से युक्त हों, (४) स्वच्छ हों, (५) कटे-फटे न हों, (६) बढ़ने वाले हों, (७) सुकोमल हों और (८) देखने में चिकने हों ॥ ८ ॥

दीर्घाणि हस्तशोभीन्यालोके च योषितां चित्तग्राहीणि गौडानां नखानि स्युः ॥ ९ ॥
The inhabitants of Gauda [North Bengal] consider long nails to be an ornament of the hands. Such nails are an attraction for the girls of the region.

गौड़ देशवासियों के बड़े-बड़े नख स्वभाव से ही हाथ को शोभित करने वाले तथा देखने मात्र से स्त्रियों के मन को आकृष्ट करने वाले होते हैं ॥ ९ ॥
