स्वोच्चादर्धं नीचे तदन्तरस्थेऽनुपाततः कल्प्यम्। विधिनैवं खचराणां दशानुनयनं क्रमेण कर्तव्यम्॥५॥
A planet occupying its lowest debilitation-point contributes only half the number of years given above; the number of years it contributes when it occupies an intermediate position (between debilitation and exaltation) will have to be found out by the rule-of three process. In this manner, the Dasa-periods of all the planets in their order have to be calculated.
