षष्ठाष्टमव्ययांस्त्यक्त्वा शेषाण्येवं प्रकल्पयेम्। मीनादिमिथुनान्तेषु प्रथमं खण्डमिष्यते॥८१॥
Omitting the 6th, 8th and 12th houses, the case of the other houses has to be dealt with in the manner stated above. From the beginning of Meena to the end of Mithuna is called the first Khanda.

वृश्चिकादिघटान्तेषु द्वितीयं खण्डमिष्यते। कर्कटादितुलान्तेषु तृतीयं खण्डमुच्यते॥८२॥
From the beginning of Vrischika to the end of Kumbha, it is the second Khanda. From the beginning of Karkataka to the end of Tula, it is known as the third Khanda.

खण्डत्रयं पृथक् स्थाप्यमन्यत् किन्तु निरीक्षयेत्। वयोऽनुरूपकर्मादि तेनेवैवं विनिर्दिशेत्॥८३॥
These three Khandas are to be kept separately for reference as some functions and acts suitable to the age at the time have to be performed through the guidance of this alone.

अधिके शोभनं विद्याद्धीने दोषफलं तु वै। खण्डत्रयं निरीक्ष्यैव दशानयनमीरयेत्॥८४॥
In the case of excess of benefic dots, something auspicious should be expected, while when the dots are low in number, matters that are bad will spring up. It is only after noting the three Khanda periods, the Dasa effects should be declared.

पापग्रहसमारूढं खण्डं क्लेशकरं स्मृतम्। सौम्यैः पुष्टफलं ज्ञेयं मिश्रैर्मिश्रफलं स्मृतम्॥८५॥
The Khanda with more malefics wil l give malefic results while the one with benefics wil l give benefic results. If both malefics and benefics are there, mixed results will be felt.
