पापान्वितास्तु ये भावास्ते भावाः स्युर्विनाशिनः। सौम्याः सिद्धिकरा ज्ञेया मिश्रा मिश्रफलप्रदाः॥१६॥
Houses occupied by malefics produce unfavourable effects; while if by benefics, they give good results. The effects will be medium, when the planets also are of medium nature.

If a planet occupy a friendly or exaltation house he will, though malefic, produce good effects. If he should be in his depression or inimical house he will, even if benefic, will give bad results.
