स्वोच्चस्वक्षेत्रगतैर्बलिभिः केन्द्राश्रितैः कुजाद्यैश्च। रुचको भद्रो हंसो मालव्यः शश इति ख्यातः॥१६॥
When planets occupy their exaltation signs, or their own Rasis, possess strength and at the same time are in Kendra positions, five kinds of great men are ushered into the world who become widely known. According as Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus and Saturn are placed in such a position, the Yogas are termed Ruchaka, Bhadra, Hamsa, Malavya and Sasa.

svoccasvakSetragatairbalibhiH kendrAzritaiH kujAdyaizca। rucako bhadro haMso mAlavyaH zaza iti khyAtaH॥16॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptयोगा अमी न युक्ता यद्यन्यग्रहभवैर्बहुलयोगैः। उत्तमकुलजातानां नॄणां सम्यक् पृथक् फलं दद्युः॥१७॥
When these Yogas are not considered along with the Yogas caused by the other planets, they give their effects fully and separately to the several men born of high families.

yogA amI na yuktA yadyanyagrahabhavairbahulayogaiH। uttamakulajAtAnAM nRRNAM samyak pRthak phalaM dadyuH॥17॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptनित्यं धनैश्वर्ययुताः प्रसिद्धास्तेजस्विनः पुण्ययुता नरेन्द्राः। गजाश्वभाजो बहुरत्नपूर्णा दीर्घायुषस्ते पुरुषा भवन्ति॥१८॥
These men always command riches; they are of world-wide fame, are very powerful, coupled with moral merit, endowed with elephants, horses and various precious jewels; they are long-lived.

nityaM dhanaizvaryayutAH prasiddhAstejasvinaH puNyayutA narendrAH। gajAzvabhAjo bahuratnapUrNA dIrghAyuSaste puruSA bhavanti॥18॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptबलरहितेन्दुरविभ्यां युक्तैर्भौमादिभिर्ग्रहैः पुरुषाः। न भवन्ति भूमिपाला दशासु तेषां सुतार्थसंयुक्ताः॥१९॥
These men with the five planets beginning with Mars, and with the two luminaries weak, do not become kings during their Dasas, but are only blessed with children and wealth.

balarahitenduravibhyAM yuktairbhaumAdibhirgrahaiH puruSAH। na bhavanti bhUmipAlA dazAsu teSAM sutArthasaMyuktAH॥19॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptउत्तमयोगे जाता ये तेषां जीवनं सुखार्थयुतम्। विपरीते विपरीतं त्वित्याह ब्रह्मशौण्डाख्यः॥२०॥
People born in good Yogas live with all comfort and command all kinds of riches. When the yogas are adverse, they become likewise miserable. So says Brahma Sounda.

uttamayoge jAtA ye teSAM jIvanaM sukhArthayutam। viparIte viparItaM tvityAha brahmazauNDAkhyaH॥20॥
