अजवृषभचापमकराः पृष्ठत उद्यन्ति कर्किणा युक्ताः। मिथुनयुता निशिबलिनो मीनस्तिर्यङ्मुखश्च सन्ध्यायाम्॥१७॥
Signs Mesha, Vrishabha, Dhanus, Makara and Karkataka rise with their hind part, and are strong by night along with Mithuna, while Meena rises with its faces turned in opposite directions (i. e., both-ways) and is strong during the twilight.

शीर्षोदया विमिथुनाः शेषा दिवसे बलान्विताः सततम्। स्वामिज्ञजीवयुक्ता दृष्टा वा राशयो बलाढ्याश्च॥१८॥
The rest without Mithuna rise with their head and are always strong by day. The signs become strong, when they are conjoined with or aspected by their respective lords, Mercuury or Jupiter.

पुंस्त्री संज्ञे भवतो राशीनामस्थिराचलद्विगुणाः। मेषादीनां सिद्धा भूयो भूयश्चरस्थिरद्विगुणाः॥१९॥
The Rasis from Mesha onwards are alternately male and female. They are also termed moveable, fixed and dual, respectively, repeated four times.

Signs Mesha, Simha and Dhanus are Kshatriyas; Meena, Vrischika and Karkataka are Brahmins ; Kumbha, Mithuna and Tula are Vaisyas; and Kanya, Makara and Vrishabha, Sudras.
