अजमृगतौलिकुलीरा नवांशकाद्याः क्रमादजादीनाम्। स्वगृहाद्राश्यंशेशा द्रेक्काणेशाः स्वपञ्चनवमेशाः॥१५॥
The first Navamsas of the 12 Rasis beginning with Mesha are respectively Mesha, Makara, Tula and Karkataka, taken thrice. The lords of the various Navamsas of the Rasis take their names according to the names of the Rasis which they (Navamsas) bear; and the lords of the Dwadasamsas of any Rasi begin from that Rasi. The lords of the Drekkanas of a sign are in order those of the particular sign, the 5th house and the 9th house from it.
