अथ राजयोगसमाधिः । मनोमूर्च्छां समासाद्य मन आत्मनि योजयेत् । परात्मनः समायोगात्समाधिं समवाप्नुयात् ॥७-१६॥

sanskrit

The seeker should concentrate his mind on the soul by practicing unconsciousness. In this way, when the mind unites with God, the seeker attains Samadhi. This is called Rajyoga Samadhi.

english translation

साधक मनोमूर्च्छा की साधना करके अपने मन को आत्मा में केन्द्रित करे । इस प्रकार मन का परमात्मा से संयोग ( मिलन ) होने पर साधक को समाधि की प्राप्ति हो जाती है । यह राजयोग समाधि कहलाती है ।

अथ समाधियोगमाहात्म्यम् । इति ते कथितं चण्ड समाधिर्मुक्तिलक्षणम् । राजयोगः समाधिः स्यादेकात्मन्येव साधनम् । उन्मनी सहजावस्था सर्वे चैकात्मवाचकाः ॥७-१७॥

Hey Chandakapalika! In this way I have told you the symptoms of Samadhi which leads to liberation. The means which bring uniformity in mind and soul are called Samadhi. Rajayoga Samadhi, Unmani state or Sahaja state, all these are synonyms of the same Samadhi.

english translation

हे चण्डकापालिक! इस प्रकार मैंने तुम्हें मुक्ति प्राप्त करवाने वाली समाधि के लक्षण बताये हैं । मन व आत्मा में एकरूपता करवाने वाले साधन ही समाधि कहलाते हैं । राजयोग समाधि, उन्मनी अवस्था या सहजावस्था यह सभी एक ही समाधि के पर्यायवाची शब्द हैं ।

जले विष्णुः स्थले विष्णुर्विष्णुः पर्वतमस्तके । ज्वालामालाकुले विष्णुः सर्वं विष्णुमयं जगत् ॥७-१८॥

sanskrit

Vishnu resides in water, Vishnu in land, Vishnu resides on the head of the mountain i.e. Vishnu, and Vishnu resides in the group of flames i.e. fire. This entire world i.e. the world is filled with Vishnu.

english translation

जल में विष्णु, स्थल ( भूमि ) में विष्णु, पर्वत के मस्तक अर्थात् चोटी पर विष्णु, ज्वालासमूह अर्थात् अग्नि में विष्णु का निवास है । यह पूरा जगत अर्थात् संसार विष्णु से युक्त ( परिपूर्ण ) है ।

jale viSNuH sthale viSNurviSNuH parvatamastake | jvAlAmAlAkule viSNuH sarvaM viSNumayaM jagat ||7-18||

भूचराः खेचराश्चामी यावन्तो जीवजन्तवः । वृक्षगुल्मलतावल्लीतृणाद्या वारिपर्वताः । सर्वं ब्रह्म विजानीयात्सर्वं पश्यति चात्मनि ॥७-१९॥

sanskrit

The creatures roaming on the land, the animals roaming in the sky, the trees, the flowers, the creepers (twigs), the vines, the sea and the mountains, all of them should be seen in the soul considering them to be a part of Brahma.

english translation

भूमि पर घूमने वाले, आकाश में घूमने वाले जीवजन्तु, पेड़, गुल्म, लता ( टहनियाँ ), बेल, समुद्र और पर्वत इन सभी को ब्रह्म का ही अंश जानते हुए सभी को आत्मा में देखना चाहिए ।

bhUcarAH khecarAzcAmI yAvanto jIvajantavaH | vRkSagulmalatAvallItRNAdyA vAriparvatAH | sarvaM brahma vijAnIyAtsarvaM pazyati cAtmani ||7-19||

आत्मा घटस्थचैतन्यमद्वैतं शाश्वतं परम् । घटाद्विभिन्नतो ज्ञात्वा वीतरागं विवासनम् ॥७-२०॥

sanskrit

The soul (consciousness) present in this body is the ultimate eternal i.e. truth and non-dual (consisting of only one feeling). Only by knowing it (soul) as separate from the body does the seeker become free from attachment and lust.

english translation

इस शरीर में स्थित आत्मा ( चैतन्य ) ही परम शाश्वत अर्थात् सत्य और अद्वैत ( एक ही भाव से युक्त ) है । इसे ( आत्मा को ) शरीर से अलग जानने से ही साधक राग व वासना से रहित होता है ।

AtmA ghaTasthacaitanyamadvaitaM zAzvataM param | ghaTAdvibhinnato jJAtvA vItarAgaM vivAsanam ||7-20||
