जलबस्ति: शुष्कबस्तिर्बस्ति: स्याद् द्विविधा स्मृता । जलबस्तिं जले कुर्याच्छुकबस्तिं सदा क्षितौ॥१-४६॥

This Basti process is of two types. One is a Jal Basti and the other is a Sushka Basti. Jal Basti is practiced in water and Dry Basti is practiced on land i.e. sitting on the ground.

english translation

यह बस्ति क्रिया दो प्रकार की होती है । एक जल बस्ति और दूसरी शुष्क बस्ति । जल बस्ति का अभ्यास जल में तथा शुष्क बस्ति का अभ्यास भूमि अर्थात् जमीन पर बैठकर किया जाता है ।
