मञ्जिष्ठया व्याघ्रनखेन शुक्त्या त्वचा सकुष्ठेन रसेन चूर्णः । तैलेन युक्तो अर्कमयूखतप्तः करोति तच्चम्पकगन्धि तैलम् ॥ ७७-०६ ॥

Mix together in oil the powder of Mañjiṣṭhā, Vyāghranakha, Śukti, cinnamon, Kuṣṭha and Myrrh; heat the mixture in the Sun. It is known as Campakagandhi oil.

maJjiSThayA vyAghranakhena zuktyA tvacA sakuSThena rasena cUrNaH । tailena yukto arkamayUkhataptaH karoti taccampakagandhi tailam ॥ 77-06 ॥

तुल्यैः पत्रतुरुष्कबालतगरैर्गन्धः स्मरोद्दीपनः सव्यामो बकुलो अयं एव कटुकाहिङ्गुप्रधूपान्वितः । कुष्ठेनौत्पलगन्धिकः समलयः पूर्वो भवेच्चम्पको जातीत्वक्सहितो अतिमुक्तक इति ज्ञेयः सकुस्तुम्बुरुः ॥ ७७-०७ ॥

Grind together equal quantities of Patra, Turuṣka, Vāla and Tagara and you will get a perfume provoking sexual passion. Add to this perfume Priyaṅguka and expose the mixture to the smoke of Kaṭukā and Hiṅgulika. You will get a perfume which is known as Vakulagandha. To this add Kuṣṭha and you will get a perfume known as Utpalagandha. Add to this sandal, you will get again the perfume known as Campaka-gandha. Add to this nutmeg, cinnamon and Kustumbarī; you will get a perfume known as Atimuktagandha.

tulyaiH patraturuSkabAlatagarairgandhaH smaroddIpanaH savyAmo bakulo ayaM eva kaTukAhiGgupradhUpAnvitaH । kuSThenautpalagandhikaH samalayaH pUrvo bhaveccampako jAtItvaksahito atimuktaka iti jJeyaH sakustumburuH ॥ 77-07 ॥

शतपुष्पाकुन्दुरुकौ पादेनार्धेन नखतुरुष्कौ च । मलयप्रियङ्गु भागौ गन्धो धूप्यो गुडनखेन ॥ ७७-०८ ॥

Mix together one-fourth parts of Śatapuṣpa and Kunduruka, half parts of Nakha and Turuṣka, and one part of sandal and Priyaṅgu; grind them well and expose the mixture to the smoke of Guḍa and Nakha. You will then get an excellent perfume.

zatapuSpAkundurukau pAdenArdhena nakhaturuSkau ca । malayapriyaGgu bhAgau gandho dhUpyo guDanakhena ॥ 77-08 ॥

गुग्गुलुबालक लाक्षामुस्तानखशर्कराः क्रमाद्धूपः । अन्यो मांसीबालक तुरुष्कनखचन्दनैः पिण्डः ॥ ७७-०९ ॥

Grind together equal quantities of Jaṭāmāṃsī, Vālaka, Turuṣka, Nakha and sandal and form a paste; expose it to the smoke of Bdellium, Bālaka, lac, Musta, Nakha and Śarkarā.

हरीतकीशङ्खघनद्रवाम्बुभिर् गुडौत्पलैः शैलकमुस्तकान्वितैः । नवान्तपादऽदिविवर्धितैः क्रमाद् भवन्ति धूपा बहवो मनोहराः ॥ ७७-१० ॥

One part of Harītakī, 2 parts of Śaṅkha, 3 parts of Ghana, 4 parts of Drava, 5 pans of Ambu, 6 parts of Guḍa, 7 parts of Utpala. 8 parts of Śailaka and 9 parts of Musta give you a perfume. Numerous kinds of perfumes may be similarly prepared by mixing together different parts of each substance.
