तुषसदृशनखाः क्लीबाश्चिपिटैः स्फुटितैश्च वित्तसन्त्यक्ताः । कुनखविवर्णैः परतर्कुकाश्च ताम्रैश्चमूपतयः ॥ ६८-४१ ॥

If the nail resemble the husk of paddy, the person will be a hermaphrodite; if flat and split, he will be poor; if of bad colour, he will be of wrong views; and if red, he will be a king.

english translation

tuSasadRzanakhAH klIbAzcipiTaiH sphuTitaizca vittasantyaktAH । kunakhavivarNaiH paratarkukAzca tAmraizcamUpatayaH ॥ 68-41 ॥

अङ्गुष्ठयवैराढ्याः सुतवन्तो अङ्गुष्ठ मूलजैश्च यवैः । दीर्घाङ्गुलिपर्वाणः सुभगा दीर्घऽयुषश्चएव ॥ ६८-४२ ॥

If, in the middle of the thumb, there be lines of the shape of a barley, the person will be rich; if the same be found at the root of the thumb, he will have sons. If the joints of the fingers be long, the person will be popular and will live long.

aGguSThayavairADhyAH sutavanto aGguSTha mUlajaizca yavaiH । dIrghAGguliparvANaH subhagA dIrgha'yuSazcaeva ॥ 68-42 ॥

स्निग्धा निम्ना रेखा धनिनां तद्व्यत्ययेन निःस्वानाम् । विरलाङ्गुलयो निःस्वा धनसञ्चयिनो घनाङ्गुलयः ॥ ६८-४३ ॥

If the lines in the palm of the hand be glossy and deep, the man will be rich; if otherwise, he will be poor; if the fingers be not close, the person will be poor; and if close, he will earn much money.

english translation

snigdhA nimnA rekhA dhaninAM tadvyatyayena niHsvAnAm । viralAGgulayo niHsvA dhanasaJcayino ghanAGgulayaH ॥ 68-43 ॥

तिस्रो रेखा मणिबन्धनौत्थिताः करतलौपगा नृपतेः । मीनयुगाङ्कितपाणिर्नित्यं सत्रप्रदो भवति ॥ ६८-४४ ॥

If the three lines issuing from the wrist reach the middle of the palm, the person will be a king, and if there be two marks of the shape of the fish in the middle of the palm, the person will daily feed many people.

tisro rekhA maNibandhanautthitAH karatalaupagA nRpateH । mInayugAGkitapANirnityaM satraprado bhavati ॥ 68-44 ॥

वज्रऽकारा धनिनां विद्याभाजां च मीनपुच्छनिभाः । शङ्खऽतपत्रशिविकागजाश्वपद्मौपमा नृपतेः ॥ ६८-४५ ॥

If the lines in the palm be of the shape of vajrāyuddha, the person will be rich; if they be of the shape of the tail of the fish, he will be learned; if of the shape of a conch shell, an umbrella, a palanquin, an elephant, a horse or a lotus, the person will be a king.

vajra'kArA dhaninAM vidyAbhAjAM ca mInapucchanibhAH । zaGkha'tapatrazivikAgajAzvapadmaupamA nRpateH ॥ 68-45 ॥
