उन्मानमानगतिसंहतिसारवर्ण स्नेहस्वरप्रकृतिसत्त्वं अनूकं आदौ । क्षेत्रं मृजां च विधिवत्कुशलो अवलोक्य सामुद्रविद्वदति यातं अनागतं वा ॥ ६८-०१ ॥
A learned person shall examine a man’s—(1) Kṣetra (body), (2) Mṛja (complexion), (3) Svara (voice), (4) Sāra (strength), (5) Saṃhati (joints), (6) Sneha (gloss), (7) Varṇa (colour), (8) Anūka (shape of the face), (9) Unmāna (height), (10) Māna (weight), (11) Prakṛti (disposition) and (12) Gati (gait) and then predict his fortune.

unmAnamAnagatisaMhatisAravarNa snehasvaraprakRtisattvaM anUkaM Adau । kSetraM mRjAM ca vidhivatkuzalo avalokya sAmudravidvadati yAtaM anAgataM vA ॥ 68-01 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअस्वेदनौ मृदुतलौ कमलौदरऽभौ श्लिष्टाङ्गुली रुचिरताम्रनखौ सुपार्ष्णी । उष्णौ शिराविरहितौ सुनिगूढगुल्फौ कूर्मौन्नतौ च चरणौ मनुजेश्वरस्य ॥ ६८-०२ ॥
If the feet be dry, with soft soles, of the colour of the lotus, with close toes, beautiful, red nails, beautiful heels, always warm without visible sinews, with invisible ankle and raised like the turtle, the person will be a king.
english translation
asvedanau mRdutalau kamalaudara'bhau zliSTAGgulI ruciratAmranakhau supArSNI । uSNau zirAvirahitau sunigUDhagulphau kUrmaunnatau ca caraNau manujezvarasya ॥ 68-02 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptशूर्पऽकारविरूक्षपाण्डुरनखौ वक्रौ शिरासन्ततौ संशुष्कौ विरलाङ्गुली च चरणौ दारिद्र्यदुःखप्रदौ । मार्गायौत्कटकौ कषायसदृशौ वंशस्य विच्छेददौ ब्रह्मघ्नौ परिपक्वमृद्द्युतितलौ पीताव् अगम्यारतौ ॥ ६८-०३ ॥
If the feet be like winnows, crooked or bent, covered with sinews, dry, with toes not close and with nail white and not glossy, the person will be poor. If the feet be large, he will walk much; if of brown colour, his family will perish; if the soles be of the colour of burnt clay, he will murder a Brāhmaṇa; and if the colour be yellow, he will have sexual intercourse with women under prohibition,

zUrpa'kAravirUkSapANDuranakhau vakrau zirAsantatau saMzuSkau viralAGgulI ca caraNau dAridryaduHkhapradau । mArgAyautkaTakau kaSAyasadRzau vaMzasya vicchedadau brahmaghnau paripakvamRddyutitalau pItAv agamyAratau ॥ 68-03 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptप्रविरलतनुरोमवृत्तजङ्घा द्विरदकरप्रतिमैर्वरऊरुभिश्च । उपचितसमजानवश्च भूपा धनरहिताः श्वशृगालतुल्यजङ्घाः ॥ ६८-०४ ॥
If the shanks be covered with hair, thin and scattered, and if they be round, if the thighs be like the trunk of the elephant, and if the knees be large and both alike, the person will be a king. But if the shanks resemble those of a dog or a jackal, the person will be poor.

hk transliteration by Sanscriptरोमएकएकं कूपके पार्थिवानां द्वे द्वे ज्ञेये पण्डितश्रोत्रियाणाम् । ञ्याद्यैर्निःस्वा मानवा दुःखभाजः केशाश्चएवं निन्दिताः पूजिताश्च ॥ ६८-०५ ॥
If a single hair grow from each cell over the body, the person will be a king; if two hair grow from it, the person will be learned and will scrupulously observe the duties of life as prescribed in the Vedas; if three or more, the person will be poor and afflicted with grief The same remarks apply to the hair of the head.

romaekaekaM kUpake pArthivAnAM dve dve jJeye paNDitazrotriyANAm । JyAdyairniHsvA mAnavA duHkhabhAjaH kezAzcaevaM ninditAH pUjitAzca ॥ 68-05 ॥
