छागशुभाशुभलक्षणं अभिधास्ये नवदशाष्टदन्तास्ते । धन्याः स्थाप्या वेश्मनि सन्त्याज्याः सप्तदन्ता ये ॥ ६५-०१ ॥
We shall now proceed to describe the bad and good features of the goat (chāga). A goat which has 8, 9 or 10 teeth will bring wealth to a person if it dwells in his house. One that has 7 teeth shall be rejected.
english translation
chAgazubhAzubhalakSaNaM abhidhAsye navadazASTadantAste । dhanyAH sthApyA vezmani santyAjyAH saptadantA ye ॥ 65-01 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptदक्षिणपार्श्वे मण्डलं असितं शुक्लस्य शुभफलं भवति । ऋष्यनिभकृष्णलोहितवर्णानां श्वेतं अति शुभदम् ॥ ६५-०२ ॥
A white goat which has a black ringlet on the right side brings on prosperity. A goat that resembles the antelope whose colour is black-red and which has a white ringlet, conduces to prosperity.
english translation
dakSiNapArzve maNDalaM asitaM zuklasya zubhaphalaM bhavati । RSyanibhakRSNalohitavarNAnAM zvetaM ati zubhadam ॥ 65-02 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptस्तनवदवलम्बते यः कण्ठे अजानां मणिः स विज्ञेयः । एकमणिः शुभफलकृद्धन्यतमा द्वित्रमणयो ये ॥ ६५-०३ ॥
The fleshy excrescence which hangs from the neck of a goat is known as Maṇi. A goat with a single maṇi brings on prosperity; one that has two or three maṇis brings on wealth.
english translation
stanavadavalambate yaH kaNThe ajAnAM maNiH sa vijJeyaH । ekamaNiH zubhaphalakRddhanyatamA dvitramaNayo ye ॥ 65-03 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptमुण्डाः सर्वे शुभदाः सर्वसिताः सर्वकृष्णदेहाश्च । अर्धासिताः सितार्धा धन्याः कपिलार्धकृष्णाश्च ॥ ६५-०४ ॥
A goat (chāga) that has no wool on it will make the owner prosperous, and one that is either wholly white or wholly black, or half white and half black, or half brown and half black, will bring on wealth.
english translation
muNDAH sarve zubhadAH sarvasitAH sarvakRSNadehAzca । ardhAsitAH sitArdhA dhanyAH kapilArdhakRSNAzca ॥ 65-04 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptविचरति यूथस्याग्रे प्रथमं चाम्भो अवगाहते यो अजः । स शुभः सितमूर्धा वा मूर्धनि वा कृत्तिका यस्य ॥ ६५-०५ ॥
The goat which passes as the foremost of the herd or which first gets into water, will do good as well as one with a white head.
english translation
vicarati yUthasyAgre prathamaM cAmbho avagAhate yo ajaH । sa zubhaH sitamUrdhA vA mUrdhani vA kRttikA yasya ॥ 65-05 ॥
