स्फुटिकरजतवर्णो नीलराजीविचित्रः कलशसदृशमूर्तिश्चारुवंशश्च कूर्मः । अरुणसमवपुर्वा सर्षपऽकारचित्रः सकलनृपमहत्त्वं मन्दिरस्थः करोति ॥ ६४-०१ ॥
The turtle (kūrma) which is of the colour of the crystal or silver, adorned with black lines, whose body is of the shape of the pot, and whose back-bone is beautiful, and the turtle whose body is of the colour of the Sun and covered with numerous small spots, will make a person as prosperous as a prince if they dwell in his house.

sphuTikarajatavarNo nIlarAjIvicitraH kalazasadRzamUrtizcAruvaMzazca kUrmaH । aruNasamavapurvA sarSapa'kAracitraH sakalanRpamahattvaM mandirasthaH karoti ॥ 64-01 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअञ्जनभृङ्गश्यामतनुर्वा बिन्दुविचित्रो अव्यङ्गशरीरः । सर्पशिरा वा स्थूलगलो यः सो अपि नृपाणां राष्ट्रविवृद्ध्यै ॥ ६४-०२ ॥
The turtle which is black as the bee or collyrium with beautiful spots over his body, which has no defective organs, whose head is like that of the serpent and whose neck is large, will increase the territories of the king.

aJjanabhRGgazyAmatanurvA binduvicitro avyaGgazarIraH । sarpazirA vA sthUlagalo yaH so api nRpANAM rASTravivRddhyai ॥ 64-02 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptवैडूर्यत्विट्स्थूलकण्ठस्त्रिकोणो गूढच्छिद्रश्चऊरु वंशश्च शस्तः । क्रीडावाप्यां तोयपूर्णे मणौ वा कार्यः कूर्मो मङ्गलार्थं नरेन्द्रैः ॥ ६४-०३ ॥
The turtle (kūrma) of the colour of Vaidūrya, whose neck is large, whose body is smooth and of triangular shape, and whose backbone is beautiful, is of excellent kind. It shall be put in pleasure tanks and water pots by kings for the increase of their prosperity.
