शङ्खुउपहता प्रतिमा प्रधानपुरुषं कुलं च घातयति । श्वभ्रौपहता रोगानुपद्रवांश्च क्षयम् कुरुते ॥ ६०-०६ ॥
If a pike is seen driven into an image, the master will perish with his family; if there be holes in images, the master will suffer from diseases and never ending troubles.
english translation
zaGkhuupahatA pratimA pradhAnapuruSaM kulaM ca ghAtayati । zvabhraupahatA rogAnupadravAMzca kSayam kurute ॥ 60-06 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptमण्डपमध्ये स्थण्डिलं उपलिप्यऽस्तीर्य सिकतयाअथ कुशैः । भद्रासनकृतशीर्षौपधानपादां न्यसेत्प्रतिमाम् ॥ ६०-०७ ॥
The platform in the centre of the shed shall be washed with cow-dung; it shall then be covered with sand and over it shall be spread the Kuśa grass; and the image shall be placed in it in the Bhadrāsana posture, with a leg resting on the ground and the other bent up horizontally at the knee.
english translation
maNDapamadhye sthaNDilaM upalipya'stIrya sikatayAatha kuzaiH । bhadrAsanakRtazIrSaupadhAnapAdAM nyasetpratimAm ॥ 60-07 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptप्लक्षाश्वत्थौदुम्बरशिरीषवटसम्भवैः कषायजलैः । मङ्गल्यसंज्ञिताभिः सर्वाउषधिभिः कुशऽद्याभिः ॥ ६०-०८ ॥
The image shall be bathed with the milk of the Plakṣa, Aśvatha, Udumbara, Śirīṣa and Vaṭa, and with water mixed with the Kuśa grass and the like sacred plants.
english translation
plakSAzvatthaudumbarazirISavaTasambhavaiH kaSAyajalaiH । maGgalyasaMjJitAbhiH sarvAuSadhibhiH kuza'dyAbhiH ॥ 60-08 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptद्विपवृषभौद्धत पर्वतवल्मीकसरित्समागमतटेषु । पद्मसरःसु च मृद्भिः सपञ्चगव्यैश्च तीर्थजलैः ॥ ६०-०९ ॥
It shall also be rubbed with earth taken from place trodden over by elephants and bulls, from the neighbourhood of mountains, from ant-hills, from the junction of rivers and lotus tanks. It shall also be bathed with sacred waters and with Pañcagavya.
english translation
dvipavRSabhauddhata parvatavalmIkasaritsamAgamataTeSu । padmasaraHsu ca mRdbhiH sapaJcagavyaizca tIrthajalaiH ॥ 60-09 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptपूर्वशिरस्कां स्नातां सुवर्णरत्नाम्बुभिश्च ससुगन्धैः । नानातूर्यनिनादैः पुण्याहैर्वेदनिर्घोषैः ॥ ६०-१० ॥
It shall be bathed in fragrant waters in jars in which shall be thrown gold and gems attended with various music and with the chanting of Vedic hymns; while bathing, the image shall be placed to face the east.

pUrvaziraskAM snAtAM suvarNaratnAmbubhizca sasugandhaiH । nAnAtUryaninAdaiH puNyAhairvedanirghoSaiH ॥ 60-10 ॥
